(1923 – 2010) Flew joined Oxford as an exhibitioner and later became a Caseberd Scholar of St. Johns College. He subsequently earned first class Honors in Litterae Humaniores and was awarded the University Prize in Philosophy which was later converted into a M.A. In addition to being a lecturer in Philosophy at University of Oxford and the University of Aberdeen, Flew was a Professor of Philosophy at the University Kelee and the University of Reading. For most of his life, Flew was a self-proclaimed atheist. However, in 2004 Flew revealed he had become a deist having become convinced that all the fine-tuned design in the universe pointed to the existence of an intelligent designer.
