Nebuchadnezzar II (c 634 – 562 BC) was the king of the Babylonian Empire from approximately 605 B.C. – 562 B.C. He is referenced several times in the Bible, most notably in the Book of Daniel. Nebuchadnezzar’s siege of Jerusalem (which is believed to have resulted in destruction of the First Temple) is what led to Daniel’s exile to Babylon.
