The word “testament” means “covenant” (a formal agreement or promise). The “New Testament” refers to the covenant God has entered into with believers through Jesus Christ.  The New Testament consists of 27 books authored by early disciples of Jesus and is divided into four categories: 1) There are four historical accounts of the life, death, resurrection and teachings of Jesus (the gospels); 2) There is an historical account of the early church (Acts of the Apostles); 3) ****
