Werner Keller (1909 – 1980) grew up in Germany studying engineering, medicine and jurisprudence. During WWII, Keller served as an anti-Nazi resistance fighter. He was sentenced to death by Hitler but before the sentence was carried out, Keller was liberated by American troops. After the war, Keller worked as a journalist and science writer.
