Gottfried Wilhelm von Leibniz(1646-1716) was a well-respected German mathematician and philosopher well known for developing Boolean algebra and symbolic logic and many believe he developed infinitesimal calculus independently of Isaac Newton. Long after Leibniz died, atheist Bertrand Russell noted that the logic found in Leibniz’ unpublished writings were not reached by others for 200 years.
