OECs, such as Robert Newman, who offer the Intermittent-Day of the Genesis creation account, propose each 24-hour “day” (yom) only introduced a new creative period which proceeded for a long period of time before a new creative period was introduced by another creation “day” (yom). Newman maintains “both nature and Scripture are inerrant sources of information from God” but that “[b]oth have fallible human interpreters.” Newman does not science as an enemy of Christianity; rather, science is merely a process men use to study God’s general revelation. In Newman’s , both general revelation and special revelation will be in harmony when both are correctly interpreted.
