Polaris

Polaris (aka the North Star) is the brightest star in the ski even though it is about 430 light years away. Because of how bright Polaris is and because it remains so closely aligned with Earth’s North Pole, it has been used throughout history for navigational purposes. For that reason, it is also referred to as the Guiding Star.
